Computer, Smart Phone or Tablet Device players
There are several ways in which you can listen to Desi Radio. One is by using our Desi Pop Out Player which will work from any web browser (including iOS devices), or you can permanently add us to your iTunes playlist, or your Windows Media Playlist.
There are several ways you can listen to Desi Radio over the internet. If your device used to work, and no longer works it means that you need to update the settings in your device.
Desi Pop Out Player
The Desi Radio Pop Out Player is an icon in the sidebar on your left which is present on every page. If you click on it, it will open the player in a new window and connect to the audio stream online.
If you have a choice of browsers, Desi Radio recommends Firefox or Chrome. You can load the player into these browsers if it is not your default browser by copying this link and pasting it into your browser. https://desiradio.org.uk/live3.html
If you click on the image below it will load the player into your default browser which may be Internet Explorer, or Edge for Windows 10 users.
Adding Desi Radio as a playlist
You can permanently add Desi Radio as a play list to iTunes or Windows Media Player. To do that click on the relevant symbol below, this will download the playlist file to your device. You may need to accept it, which should load it into the playlist so that it is permanently available on your device.
Windows Media Player
Click on the Windows Media Player icon above to download the playlist information to enable Windows Media Player to connect to the audio stream over the Internet. Save the file on your device and click on it. This will launch media player and open the audio stream.
Windows 10 Users
Please be aware that the default audio player may not be Windows Media player, on new Windows 10 installations the default player may be Groove Music. The Windows Media Player file is not compatible with Groove Music. Please use the Desi Radio Pop Out player.
iTunes playlist
Click on the iTunes icon above to download the playlist information to add Desi Radio to your playlist. This will enable iTunes to connect to the audio stream over the Internet. Save the file to your device. You may need to click on it to launch iTunes.
Still Cannot Reach it?
There may be a problem with your device, or your internet connection. The link directly to the streaming service is below. If you click on this, and nothing happens, or you cannot hear anything, it is highly likely that access to the streaming service is blocked by a firewall somewhere, or your computer settings need to be reviewed. In many cases Windows will choose a default player to connect to an audio stream. The default for most Windows users is Windows Media Player unless you or another program have changed those settings.
When you click on the link below this will open a new browser window, but you will not see anything, other than a graphic image representing a player. Click on the player to test the connection, close the window to return to this page.
