Using an Internet Radio
There are a growing number of internet radios on the market. These work in much the same way as a conventional radio, with the added ability to connect to audio streaming services across the internet.
If you have been using an internet radio to access Desi Radio and it has stopped working then it is highly likely you will need to update your station presets.
You will need to check your device manual to do this, but the recommended steps are:
1). Locate the new audio stream from Desi Radio
Firstly check whether your radio can find the NEW Desi Radio audio stream. With your radio mode switched to listen to Internet Radio (this is important, make sure it is not set up as FM/ AM / DAB/ Etc)
Go to Menu, Select Station List, then select Local United Kingdom.
This will list a directory of different types of broadcast made locally in the UK. There are around 1,700 of them currently.
Choose the genre World India. You should find Desi Radio 1602 AM listed there. Select it.
What should happen now is your Internet Radio will select the audio stream from Desi Radio and you will hear the broadcast.
Now we need to store it so you can get there with a single button press.
2). Update your preset
You will need to check the manual for your particular radio model. With the Desi Radio audio playing, save the station to one of your presets. Here it would be a good idea to save it on top of the old Desi Radio setting if you have been using an earlier preset.
Then save it.
Desi Radio will now be instantly accessible. IN the image below you can see the Desi Radio logo in display on this Internet Radio.
Alternative Method Using Frontier Silicon Website
The electronics inside many of the digital radios on the market use software and hardware from a company called Frontier Silicon. They provide a directory of Internet Streaming services from sources from all around the world.

Check your device to see if it can access Frontier Silicon website which is here: http://www.wifiradio-frontier.com
If your radio is supported by Frontier Silicon you can set up an account on this website and add internet radio stations to your personal list. When you have created your personal list of radio stations, and have entered a special code from your radio, your selected stations are then available on your radio when it is connected to the internet.
The image above shows Desi Radio listed in a directory of UK based internet radio stations. From here it is possible to add the station to your personal list, or play it directly on your computer. You will need to refer to your product manual to find out how to access your favourites on your Internet Radio.
